This picture was taken along RT 66 in Northern Arizona. The train is one of many run by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. BNSF is the second-largest freight railroad network in North America.
The image is a composite of two photos. The train and tracks were extracted from a picture taken along Rt 66 near Hackberry, Arizona. The clouds, windmills, and landscape are from a picture taken near Holbrook, Arizona.
After a 24 year career with a large east coast computer company, I retired from the corporate world and in 2003 moved to Phoenix, Arizona with my wife. Fortunately, the Southwest is a mecca of photographic opportunities, so with my camera in tow, my wife and I take every opportunity to take advantage of it. All photography Copyright Fred Larson.
