This picture was taken in Jerome Arizona. Jerome was founded in the late 19th century on Cleopatra Hill overlooking the Verde Valley, it is more than 5,000 feet above sea level. Supported in its heyday by rich copper mines, it was home to more than 10,000 people in the 1920s. As of the 2010 census, its population was 444.

After a 24 year career with a large east coast computer company, I retired from the corporate world and in 2003 moved to Phoenix, Arizona with my wife. Fortunately, the Southwest is a mecca of photographic opportunities, so with my camera in tow, my wife and I take every opportunity to take advantage of it. All photography Copyright Fred Larson.
